CHRJ team in leadership of Ms. Amna Rashid, Director CHRJ met the delegation of Digital Rights Foundation (DRF) led by Ms. Seerat Khan, Advocacy Manager along with Senior Research Fellow Barrister Jannat Ali Kalyar.
During the discussion, DRF presented their aims and objectives and elaborated the impact of their Cyber Bullying and Cyber Crimes campaigns. DRF talked about the helpline for reporting of cyber harassment cases. Since its launch, a year ago, the helpline, has received around 1500 complaints related to cyber harassment. DRF added that they are working on capacity building of officials, human rights defenders, school going teenagers, lawyers and students through its awareness seminars and workshops throughout Pakistan.
DRF highlighted the problems currently being faced by the complainants while taking their complaint to FIA and how they have helped the victims through the process.
CHRJ looks forward to continuing working with DRF for the awareness of digital rights amongst university students.
