Mr. Waseem ur Rahman, Legal Associate at UNHCR explaining the objectives of the meeting said that UNHCR is now looking for possible opportunities for further collaboration between Academia and UNHCR.
Ms. Amna Rashid (Director CHRJ), Mr. Umar Rashid (Faculty Advisor) and Mr. Muhammad Sakheer iqbal Awan (Advocacy Manager) attended the meeting on behalf of CHRJ.
Mr. Waseem said that last year UNHCR organized an International Conference in collaboration with BUITEMS (Balochistan University of Information and Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences) in which UNHCR was looking for suggestions and ideas from the academia which will help UNHCR in working for the advancement of refugee rights in a better way and to conduct researches in collaboration with the academia for unbiased studies. UNHCR now aims to further the collaboration.
At the end, Mr. Waseem invited team CHRJ for a meeting to further discuss the idea of partnership with academia at the Islamabad office of UNHCR and the invitation was accepted. The meeting was held on 7th June 2018.
