On 15Th April (Monday), CHRJ organized “An Interactive Session on Achieving Gender Equality through Law and Policy-Making with Honorable Uzma Kardar MPA, Chairperson Standing Committee on Gender Mainstreaming, Punjab Assembly” as part of its #KnowYourRights Campaign at UMT.
The session focused on the efforts to achieve Gender Equality through laws and policies in Punjab and the role of Punjab Assembly in gender mainstreaming through policy making and the expected impact of Gender Mainstreaming Committee. Ms. Amna Rashid, Director CHRJ gave a brief description of the importance of Gender Mainstreaming. Mr. Umar Rashid elaborated the recent developments in Gender Mainstreaming through Law and Policy-Making. Mr. Sakheer Iqbal Awan moderated the session and held a Questions and Answers session at the end. The Honorable guest talked about the current problems relating to gender mainstreaming and also discussed the future line of action of the committee.
